I'm one of those people who has to read a bunch of fic communities, so I try to share the good stuff. There should be something in here for almost everyone.

I'm okay, you're okay, lovely Sean/Viggo, hard R, by childeproof (in her Boiling Point universe). How I love this writing and the insights and the satisfying imperfection of the sex. And this Sean, who is so twisted up inside for such a basically good person. All her stories are amazing and I read them over and over.

How to Say I Love you and Other Slips of the Tongue (orlando-elijah, NC-17, by cupidsbow, in the Doll series (second set of entries on that page). I love adore and worship Cupidsbow and think her Orlando is wonderful. This story works on so many levels, from smut to romance to boy psychology. It makes me happy.

Mardi Gras series by abundantlyqueer, 1: Voodoo Doll, (Orlando/Elijah) 2: Witch King (Elijah/Viggo), both fabulously NC-17.
WIP, AU, Orlando is in New Orleans promoting LOTR, but others played Frodo and Aragorn: Elijah is a prostitute I hate the term "rent boy", it's too nice and Viggo a voodoo doctor.

Two/Tool (NC-17 Elijah/Dom by sparktastic
Wonderful hot sex, and Elijah overwhelmed by lust and love that is returned.

cleverclogs's McKellwood series is sexy and intimate, addressing the age issue, and making it believable. She does a perfect Ian (with whom I'm entirely in love) and writes amazing dialog, it blows me away.
  • Anniversary (hard R, Ian/Elijah)
Set in NZ, soon after their relationship starts, teasing and sex, in the best way.
  • Stronger (PG, Ian/Elijah)
Set after the shooting of Cirith Ungol, Ian takes loving care of Elijah.
  • In Your Arms and An Afternoon in the Park (hard R, Ian/Elijah)
London, 2004, during the filming of Yank, Ian and Elijah, care and friendship and love and good sex.

  • In the same universe comes Tell Me Again (hard R, Sean/Elijah)
Fascinating relationship, and dialog that's both funny and touching and the lovely sexy sex. I almost never like stories with that pairing because they tend to the trite, but this is real and loving and just wonderful.

Many Paths (Billy/Dom, PG-13 by canfic)
one of the few Billy-decides-between-Ali-and-Dom stories that really worked for me.

Notes and Queries (R, elijah, dom, billy by leashy_bebes)
This is the best kind of angst: realistic, hopeless, and painful. But the friendship is comforting and the doomed love is beautiful.

It'll poison your blood G-rated Dom/Orlando by sophrosyne31,
Dom's habit of writing on himself leads to good things. I love the tone and the things unsaid. Very hot.

Serial Moments 3 Liv/Miranda femmeslash, hard R by ancabell and cynical_terror
Very sexy, very intimate, lovely women. Yay for hot femslash!

Only Natural R for concepts, dom and billy talking, mention of dom/elijah and het sex, by ivorette
I like going against the grain, hate stereotypes and trite answers, so this is perfect for me. Made me laugh out loud!

If you like my recs, please comment. Otherwise I feel like I'm talking to the air and its not worth the all the work :-(

One of the best things about writing my recs is that I get to re-read the best stories. Lucky me :-)

Hey, don't stop! *eg*

I'd already read childeproof's brilliant latest VigBean - and commented in gushingly embarassing length. *g*

Thanks for reminding me how much I love cupidsbow's stuff - did a spot of rereading and made a mental note to go back when I have more time. Ditto for your other recs. :-)

Thank you so much for the recs. There's so much fic out there now, I don't usually take the time to go hunting for the cream of the crop. I don't normally read AUs, but that voodoo story is incredible. Thanks for bringing it to me!

Shall make a point of reading all of these - only realising how out of touch I am with current fics, without internet access at home over the last month. There's stuff here I've never even heard of. Now I will no longer feel like a fandom dinosaur in terms of lack of recent reading, thanks to you...
And thank you for rec'ing me! You are v kind.

Hey you, glad you're here. I suppose we could write actual paper letters when you're suck without access. Or can you at least get email?

I should rec some more, there's tons of mediocrity and some that grab me, get my attention and make it worth my while.

I wrote a sean/viggo but it's for a zine and won't be out until late July at the earliest

Oh, that's kind. But I do make a point of checking e-mail every couple of days in a net cafe - I need to check work stuff, anyway - but have no time to read my f-list, just flick about for a few minutes. So I am here, but briefly, and suffering from Bad Conscience at all the stuff I'm missing.

Brilliant re Sean-Viggo for zine!!! Will you also post here?
