the years they go round and round

mood: optimistic

Watching Fellowship of the Ring with girlchild and my guy, the bluray (extended of course) really is gorgeous and crisp, and the scene where Aragorn turns down the Ring is one of my favorite not-in-the-books parts.

slashababy stories are up! It was pretty easy this year, I only made three mistakes and people let me know so I could fix them.

My guy talked me into getting a MacBook Air (he tried a Kindle but that just doesn't do it for me), and it is astonishingly light and fast and lovely. I screwed up some of my transferring of data though, and have to fix a bunch of stuff.

This cold has really knocked me on my ass, I couldn't sleep on Thursday night because I was couldn't breathe, but I'm recovering.

Happy New Year, may 2012 be kind and good to us all!

Happy New Year to you as well! The years DO keep going round and round no matter what...

I was watching Fellowship on bluray (extended of course) the other night for the first time, too. I loved the water scenes - the colors of the river, etc. are where I notice most of the crispness you mention. It's like seeing some of it for the first time. I think I shall bow to suggestion and finish watching the other two this weekend as well. It's a rather fitting intro into the new year in many ways.

And thank you again to all of the Slashababy admins for their work and effort - it's a fascinating little project.

Charmingly enough, it was Ed who put on the cast commentary last night, fabulous to hear it again!

I am so excited to read Slasha this year, it's like more presents. :) Happy happiest, and enjoy that MacBook Air! They're so featherlight, I'm almost frightened of them (I think Dani called them the Potato Chip computers, they're so light), but I can't deny they're beautiful! And a happier option than a Kindle to my mind, of course. :D

Jon got a pad, too (the brand escapes me) and he adores it! I haven't been able to pull him away from it.

Happy New Year! I hope this one brings you peace.

slashababy is always awesome; big thanks to you and the other organizers for bringing us such gifts every year.

I hope you're feeling better now. Being sick isn't the greatest way to start the new year, but I hope the rest of 2012 is full of wonderful things. *hugs*
