mood: content
music: Jay Leonhart, Salamander Pie

skyeathena pointed me at this and the sharper version here. So. GIP.

And a rec: chaya's pencil puppet story (Billy-Dom, almost entirely gen). Funny in a slightly twisted way with a little bit of wistfulness underneath. Lovely.

Anyone want to help me work on a Slasher's Guide to LA? I haven't lived there in ages, but I still get upset when I see it depicted as a place with snow, corner stores, and walkup flats. Think heat suburbs and freeways, people! oulangi has been a great help so far, she knows all about clubs and nightlife. I wrote up some notes on geography, neighborhoods and weather. Could use lots more info.

Woot, my threesome story is off to beta, finally! Thinking about posting some of my older ones, which I've was shy about. A fair amount of het (don't say you haven't been warned).

Some days I remember what's great about real life. I drove to my client's via the SF Bay Bridge yesterday, the air was crystal clear and the view was spectacular! Not to mention five billable hours, which are always a Good Thing. And I'm giving a guest lecture at UC Berkeley today, which sounds fairly glamourous at least. Who cares if my to-do list is a mile long?

(Now if only my little kid could sleep through the night...)

I was just there a little over a week ago. Spent a lot of time driving around, went to the Stephen Cohen gallery (twice), so I could contribute some recent information on the LA airport, the traffic (blech! :P drivers in LA are not shy about using their horns), the area around the gallery (the damn sidewalks are so high we had trouble opening the passenger door on the rental car), parking (non-existent, even for the Taco Bell on Beverly Drive), stuff like that. Just let me know.

Excellent, outsiders see things so differently!

I didn't remember the horns, but then it's been a really long time, and I was mostly just a kid.

And parking? In BH? That one I know -- you're supposed to either let your driver wait, use valet, or just add it to your collection of tickets and pay them off at the end of the year!

I'll send you the draft, please beta it for me!

Heh... this part of Beverly Drive was in Los Angeles (the Stephen Cohen Gallery is on Beverly Drive and its addy is LA, not BH). We did do some exploring into BH, saw some of those fancy houses on Palm Drive. They all had "protected by {xxx] security" signs in the front yards. We also drove around La Brea and Sunset.

I'll send you the draft, please beta it for me!

I got it. I'll add my thoughts and get it back to you in a day or two, okay?

Go look at the giant picture. Feather boa and chest hair -- devastating.

I'm burned out on the story now, so no hurry on the beta.

Nonono! Some of your questions, like about trees, will go into it. The guide is my attempt to avoid stories with annoying mistakes. Your questions are pro-active, so I like them!
