So much yes. Oh my god, I'm so sick of all the negativity and the sniping. I can't believe the number of Obama- and Hillary-wives saying they won't vote for the other candidate if theirs doesn't win.

If a Republican gets in again, we'll have to take back the colonies because just...no! ;)

Although from an outsider's point of view this whole primary business is endlessly fascinating if a little crazy at times.

A lot crazy! I would have been so much happier with a Tony Blair-like president.

Word!

From a European perspective, anyone is better than Bush. But a Democrat would be splendid.

Although on the downside: chances are that anyone gifted with better diplomatic skills than Bush (aka any person being able to shed the cowboy boots once in a while) will also require us Europeans to invest much more ressources in the rebuilding of Iraq and Afghanistan. Because that person will know to ask nicely and will thus make it much harder to say no.

I could go on at length, but will refrain from doing so.

McCain believes in the war, maybe more than Bush. He's also pro-rich-people-tax cuts (flip-flopped on that one) and anti-abortion. He's a lot smarter than Bush, and some of his positions are more sane, but I'd rather NOT, thanks.

I think investing resources in rebuilding Iraq and Afghanistan (and Sudan and Rwanda and Bosnia) are a really good idea. I think they'll pay back in both economic and humanitarian terms, and soon. Plus, eventually, the US will stop being so obsessed with abstinence and we can make more of a dent in population growth.
