things that amuse me while I'm sitting around

« previous entry | next entry »

mood: bored

As I may have mentioned, I broke my left knee and then I slipped on the crutches and broke my left right heel. So I'm sitting a lot.

Fan happiness: Dom lunching with Liev Schreiber in Australia, yay for new co-stars!

Book that got me through the long day of tests: Beat Until Stiff - a really good murder mystery set in San Francisco, written by a friend of mine. The insights into the SF restaurant scene are fascinating and I even like the first-person narration, which usually bugs me.

Other things that have been amusing me:
  • LOST (Evi and Naveen so pretty)
  • Cashmere Mafia (Miranda's character getting feisty again)
  • Torchwood (everyone is so pretty, story so OTT)
  • A Bit of Fry and Laurie (both of them so young)
  • Kingdom (Stephen Fry, much older, very soothing series for an Anglophile)
  • 24 Hour Party People (Andy Serkis in a fun bit part, John Simm playing guitar and a love letter to Manchester!)
  • State of Play (John Simm in the lead, being dedicated, the very pretty Kelly Macdonald being righteous, the very pretty James McAvoy being slightly incompetent, and a cameo of the song Turn by Travis: what's not to like?
Otherwise, my life is quite dull.

ETA: Happy Birthday beizy!!!

How are you feeling? I felt so bad for you when I read that you'd hurt your other foot. *hugs*

I'm OK, just mostly bored and twitchy. My writing partner is away for ten days and I miss her! Someday I'll get my solofic going again.

James McAvoy is my latest crush! Have you seen Atonement? He's amazing in it.

I think I may have to give State of Play a try...

PS So sorry to hear about your knee and heel! ::hugs::

I have seen Atonement, and he is beautiful. State of Play is good, classic BBC political drama, with more twists and turns that anyone can ever follow.

*hugs* thank you.

oh my stars, you poor thing. Please feel better and watch lots of movies and just relax :(

Umf. I love Liev Schreiber. He was just so damn hot in "The Omen", even though it was a terrible movie. <3

Am trying to relax. Am succeeding some days better than others :-/

I really really liked "Everything Is Illuminated", which Liev directed. I didn't like the book because of the style, but the movie really got to me (ethnic heritage etc.). And he seems like a mensch!

Jeebus, that sounds way worse than what happened to me. I really hope that both sides are on the mend now and I'm glad to read that you've got family looking after you.

Having both feet damaged and needing both arms to move yourself around is a major spanner in the works, I guess.

Get well soon!

Well, I was never in the hospital, so I think we've both had Very Bad Luck. And your note is quite reassuring, because I'd be completely if I had 3 months on crutches the way my leg is now. Weightbearing in 15 days, yay!
