mood: pleased
music: "Like a Puppy on a Trampoline"

_unsound is an AU series written by the fabulous team of shaenie and traveller. It grew out of the AU RPG lotr_porn, and features Billy as an undercover cop/mobster and Johnny Depp as a mobster with an Asian connection. Orlando, Viggo and others appear as supporting players, along with some wonderful original characters. These people are wonderfully detailed, the situation fascinating and the tension among them breathtaking. It's one of the best things I've ever read.

AU, Complete: peter_and_fran wherin the LOTR actors are in a rock band. It's great, full of quirky characterizations that defy stereotype, wonderful vignettes, dialog and bits of graphics. (kinda quoting myself here). I'm sorry it had to end, cos it's WONDERFUL

AU, WIP Robotrips by oneangrykate has a sweet robotic Elijah, intrigued Technician Dominic, with a supporting cast including Technicians Boyd (who may be a pervert), Bloom, Pamela and Franka. Only two chapters so far, but they're funny and sweet and have this underlying sexual curiosity that is great to read.

AU WIP Beyond the Sea by suede_scripture, Dom/Billy, other actors, NC-17 over all, PG-13 most chapters. Dom is a burned-out social worker going on a cruise to New Zealand. Billy is a jazz singer on the ship, Elijah is a steward and more of the cast show up. It's sweet and a little angsty and generally wonderful.

Update to Boy's Night In by mirith (Dom/Billy/Elijah) -- Part 4 is more of a prequel and a lovely one at that, all about the things Dom and Billy are not saying.

WIP chaosmanor Antidote, Poison Shards. By chaosmanor, set approx 2005?, Orlando/Kate, Orlando/Viggo, NC-17. Sympathetic portrayal of Orlando and an anorexic Kate, intense Viggo, things are not easy and it feels more like the real world than "happily ever after."

Also, all the fics of jasmineskie (Viggo/Orlando) -- her stuff is locked, so contact her for flist info.

Quick #8 (with links) by cupiscent, Three Jacks - Sparrow (PotC), Shaftoe (Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle) and King (G&S's Pirates of Penzance) - fight vampires in an alternate London. So tremendously AU, no prior canon knowledge required. It's a great setting, full of fabulous details, surprises, actual plot and sparkly dialog.

Please do! Our tastes may not be exactly the same, but I can guarantee you quality writing, no melodrama, good strong funny and/or fascinating characters and believable hot sex!
