Lotrips

Leather (by apple_pi, Dom/Billy, set around early 2005, NC-17). Great, hot, sexy smut, wonderful Dom voice, Billy in a leather kilt, what's not to like?

The Bird's Nest (by mirabile_dictu, Sean Bean and the rest of the Fellowship, set in unspecified near future, PG-13 mostly for language). A wonderful, intimate and satisfying story about friendship and love.

Hmmm, I notice an angsty theme amongst the following stories. Might have to do with my mood these days.

Dom vs. the shadow mongers (by algernonthemous, Dom by himself, set in 2001, PG-13). I like this because it's got the details but keeps some distance. Dom isn't self-pitying, just lost and drowning. And friendship prevails.

Orbit (by the_danamark, Billy/Viggo/Dom, set during filming, PG-13) Hard to explain: gorgeous, different, complicated, haunting.

("You like to feel, right?" Billy likes to feel.)

Synapse to Synapse (by cyclogenesis; Elijah, Dom/Billy; set in 2004ish; R for non-explicit wanking). Gorgeous use of second person and impossible-to-solve angst and Elijah's voice is real and strong and sad. And on a meta level, isn't the "you" in this story, actually "us", fanfic writers and readers.

Mix Tape part 1 and part 2. (by witt444, set during filming, Dom/Elijah; Dom/Billy, Rish). People may want very different things. This story has the tone and pace of life, no melodrama, sympathy on all sides. (Apparently this was posted to CTB ages ago, but I like it)
“Dom…” Elijah purrs softly, mostly to himself. You think. It has the warm, satisfied sound of your name inside his head, the you he has, not the you you are.
All that will be left (by valerienne, Elijah/Billy, Dom/Elijah, set during filming, R). Elijah stream-of-consciousness that really got to me. I'm not all about the angst, but I like realism and letting it go how it goes. Welcome a strong new voice to Lotrips!

Lost

girl power redux - ficlet in which Claire escapes and comes back to the survivors. This is what oneangrykate (and I) think should happen on the next new Lost episode [1.15]. Not really spoilery if you've seen any of the last four episodes or so.

Pirates

Marooned (by viva_gloria, set after Pirates 1, Jack Sparrow and his mind mostly, later encounters with Norrington, up to NC17, WIP). Beautifully intertwined dreams and reality, sometimes melancholy, often lapidary. Just keep reading her journal for the daily treats.

Ailment (by rosemending, Norrington/Sparrow, set after first film, R) Magical realism with tattoos. Fabulous imagery.

Go, read, write feedback for the ones you love and make the authors feel appreciated ;-)

And, quoting norah, Also, I would like you all to say gratuitous nice things to me. This is not a meme or a reciprocal backpatting exchange or anything other than a shameless bid for petting. Today is just one of those days.

I was going to say without the "oral sex" it would be widely distributable but then i noticed the language. I still think you should consider posting it on the Fuselage or somewhere, maybe with fewer Fucks.

Hiya!

Did you happen to send wondergirl4413OO my way? I got this AIM message:

wondergirl4413OO: msilverstar1 told me to msg you. said you're the one who writes the stories i read
wondergirl4413OO: thanx! they're awesome!

And with the things that have been going on in my life recently, and the fact that it came right in the middle of a series of harrassing IM's from various made up screennames, I was afraid to answer. *sheepish*

The person signed off shortly after I didn't answer, which really only made me all the more suspicious. I'm afraid they just picked someone at random to use as a reference.

I feel like I'm living the phrase "just because you're paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't after you," lol!
