LOTR RPS AU Tentacle Porn!
With shaenie writing scientist!Elijah and anatsuno writing mysterious!Viggo, you know it has to be good. WIP warning, NC-17, AU. Part 1 and Part 2.

Damaged (Orlando/Elijah, NC-17, AU in contemporary South London, NC-17, finished series). Hard to explain why I like this so much, they're like OMCs with actor's names and faces. Great atmosphere, details, the psychology is a little heavy-handed and yet it really works for me. Tension until the very end and a satisfying resolution.

LOTR RPS/FPS crossover
A Boy and His Hobbit (by karadin; Elijah/Frodo; set during filming, NC-17) Strange but good crossover in which Frodo visits our Earth, has spent time with JRR Tolkien, is good friends with Peter and Fran, and falls in love with Elijah who loves him too. Interesting, intermittently brilliant, mainly from Elijah's point of view, a little heavy-handed with the dramatic tension, but oddly affecting.

Glasgow, Scotland, the UK, the World, the Solar System, the Galaxy, the Universe, Existence, part 1 and Part 2. (by lalejandra; Billy/Ali/Xander; R) Lovely zombie-killing weirdness

Hetty Wainthropp/Taggart Crossover
Button Box (by ingve9; Geoffrey/Jaime; PG-13) This shows Jamie sympathetically but doesn't infantilize or sentimentalize him. It's so easy to say "oh I'd be sensitive and tolerant" but harder to do in real life, as this story illustrates beautifully.

Queer (switchknife, Sirius/Remus, NC-17ish) Sexy immature Sirius longing in an impossible way for Remus and lovely tense boy internal voice.

In Bad Taste (by pir8fancier, Remus/Sirius, R for sex) I really like this, it's very immediate and intense, you found a way to make Remus's emotions totally sympathetic, so when he explodes, it makes total sense. *restrains self from further spoilers*

A Consummation Devoutly to be Wished (by mirasfics; Harry/Draco; NC-17) How can it be crack!Fic and hotter than hell at the same time? Not fair! but fun to read oh yes!

Getting the Hang of Thursdays by Hayseed -- a Snape/Hermione time-loop WIP that I'm rather fond of.

Black Hawk Down
"The Way You Say" (by heartofslash, Bana/Bloom, NC-17) Hot, sweet, with some dramatic "will he like me?" tension in the beginning and a little bit of "will I like gay sex?" towards the end but mostly hot, hot, hot!!!

Reunion (by cupiscent, Sparrow/Norrington, R) Satisfying smut in a perfect Jack Sparrow internal voice.

Mira's MSTs: Mystery Science Theatre-style critiques of badfic, often starring characters. Always cheers me up.

Are my recs useful? Does anyone ever read them all the way through?

I was going to comment on your last recs post but since you ask here . . . Thank you! Especially in the last set -- you recommended a story from Andy Serkis's POV that I just loved (and need to feedback). So if you have time and energy, I certainly appreciate your effort.

Very happy to see your rec for heartofslash's RPS series. She had some great twists in that, and I will never ever forget the flashlight.

Thanks for the rec, hon.

And yeah, user RPS series had me glued to my monitor. You want an experience? See "Troy" with her. Everytime Eric Bana came on the screen she squealed. Obviously he *REALLY* inspires her to greatness.
