    <summary type="html">The fail was back in November when a small majority of voters went against equal marriage rights.  The state supreme court &lt;a href="http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/05/26/BAE017PTAD.DTL&amp;amp;tsp=1"&gt;just upheld the proposition&lt;/a&gt;, because they are bound to decide on the law rather than principle. At least they also confirmed the legal marriages during the interim.     <summary type="html">It's been really hot here.   Way beyond my normal tolerance, as the temperatures are usually in the 70s F/ 20s C.  Yesterday it was  91 F / 32.8 C!  Today 89/ 31.6. I know that's normal summer for lots of people (even 10 miles inland or south), but we're wusses.  Berkeley has eight to twelve really hot days a year, so we don't have air conditioning, even a swamp cooler, and our house just gets hot and stays hot. It's Easter Sunday, (as the BBC puts it, "the most important festival of the Christian religion).  The poor schmucks stuck on the phones KNOW about amazonfail and they can't do a damn thing about it.  &lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;a name="cutid2"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Googlebombing is fun: enough bloggers and such link to a certain page with the same text, and it shows up in the Google (Yahoo/Live/whatever) search for that term.  Link to the &lt;a href="http://www.smartbitchestrashybooks.com/index.php/weblog/comments/amazon-rank"&gt;smartbitches&lt;/a&gt; redefinition of &lt;a href="http://www.smartbitchestrashybooks.com/amazonrank/"&gt;Amazon Rank&lt;/a&gt;, and it &lt;s&gt;will be&lt;/s&gt; &lt;strong&gt;is&lt;/strong&gt; first in the search results. &lt;strong&gt; We've done it as of 3 AM GMT April 12th&lt;/strong&gt;:-) &lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;a name="cutid3"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Colossally stupid technical/editorial mistakes do happen, and this may well be one.  I don't think that Amazon did this on purpose, exactly.
