earthquake, no damage

It was a bit scary but everything is OK, it was only around a Richter 4, which is pretty small, and it was over quickly. It was so short that by the time I got to the baby little girl, it was over. But we really felt it because it was centered about 3 miles from my house in central Berkeley: a short sharp jolt and then some swaying. [ETA to improve coherence, I was a bit shaken when I posted.]

Didn't feel anything here in S.R. You're in the East Bay, right? A 4.1 can feel like quite a jolt if you're near the epicenter.

I'm in Berkeley, and it was a weird jolt, but then over. I hate the ones that go on and on.

Thanks, it was a slightly incoherent post because I was fairly shaken up. But sometimes the first reports are sometimes lurid, and I wanted to reassure everyone...

God Almighty. How completely terrifying! God, you're calm! I'm having hysterics here even thinking about a Richter 4. But then you are probably a Shieldmaiden of Rohan type, and I am clearly a timid hobbity creature who hides behind the sofa from bad fic and thunderstorms.
