fandom moot, this Sunday, my house!
I hope it will be back to foggy by Sunday. In any case, my house stays pretty cool until 5ish, so earlier will probably be better. We could always decamp to the back yard if it's too hot inside.

The particulars:

  • my house in Berkeley (send email to ms at msilverstar.com if you need directions)
  • plenty of parking, one flat mile from BART
  • 1 to 6ish on Sunday, July 13
  • bring your lovely selves and if possible, a little something snackish

Just woke up from the strangest dream. An old boyfriend (THE old boyfriend) and I were trying to get to the airport in this major city and got hopelessly lost and ended up in some industrial, post-world war III type part of the city. We had to abandon the rental car and try to take the subway. Suddenly you were there and we ended up at a slashers moot where this room was packed and everyone was discussing your work and you were sitting on a couch surrounded by your readers. Then we had to rush to get to the train on time and you made it and held the doors for us!

Does this make you my hero? I suspect so.

It's an interesting contrast to online friendships. Some people I feel close to because I've talked to them enough, even though our fandoms are now completely unrelated (or possibly were always).

Woot! I can make it this time! And t'husband will be at a cheese-making class most of the day, so I get to moot with friends, and then go home and hear about making cheese--what's not to like?

I will of course bring something sweet--moots are a great place for me to try new recipes, so expect something interesting. Well, good and interesting. *grin*

i'm gone still, for this one- leave heathrow on the 13th, get home to sfo on the 13th, very confusing- but perhaps next month, work and car allowing!

am at tweedle_'s house, it's steady rain today, but there is good coffee and out the window an 18th? century building, and a small bridge. a very good penultimate place to my final few days in Europe/UK.
