mood: rushed

I've been walking a bit too much and my feet don't like it. Between that and not sleeping well, I've been having some fairly awful bouts of depression in the last couple of weeks :-(

BUT: kidlet is at Grandma Camp (staying with my mom and going to camp in Marin during the day), so I can sleep late and not have to rush around getting her ready in the morning, or pick her up in the afternoon. I'm going to enjoy the more leisurely schedule. And we can go out to dinner more, whoo!

Teenboy went off to get his ear pierced today. I've generally said no pierced ears until they're sixteen, though I always planned to be flexible. I have a zillion single earrings he can borrow, lucky kid. A big group of his friends are neo-hippies, which I think is darling.

I've been awful about getting things done, and it's driving me crazy, but maybe it will be easier if I write
a list.

(Wow this was hard. It took over two hours to write, I kept "getting distracted" -- depression? anxiety? I'm not sure. And I'm missing lots of things, but this one's better to post and move on than to perfect.).

Well golly, Rich text editing works on Mac Firefox now. I never tried when I had the laptop. Now I know.

Oh, honey, put that way down on your priorities. Get to it when you feel up to it; everything else is much more important. Ooh! Did you get my other email about the Billy download? I can forward somewhere else if not. :)

Thanks, but I want to do remix, just have to get my act together.

I'd completely forgotten about the download, thank you so much! Apparently our stanford account can't download from megaupload. I'll do it on the at&t account when I get wireless again.

Hiya. I've found it cuts my anxiety down if I set a timer for 15 minutes and just work for 15 minutes. I can stand anything for 15 minutes. At work, I have a playlist on my iTunes called "15 work" and I grab fifteen minutes of songs, put them on random, and work until they're over and then (and this is important) I reward myself :D

When that doesn't work, I put my to do list on smaller pieces of paper and draw them from jar. I especially do this when I have a lot of tasks that I really don't want to do (like making phone calls).

*hugs and hugs and more hugs* Anything to make the stuff seem a little less overwhelming, right?

Thank you so much, it's lovely to get helpful suggestions like that. Turns out my main block was simply listing the things to do! Once I did that, it's been much easier to do them.

*hugs are good too, hugs back*

I know how you feel, about having a long to do list and not making a dent in it. What almaviva said about setting the timer and doing things for 15 minutes is a good method to get myself going.

I know you want to do the remix and I want you to do it and I still want to help :).

(Thanks for letting me know you got the beta--I was worrying that something has gone wrong somewhere.)

Oh, what anti-ant actions are you taking? I've had ants in the kitchen since we got back from camping and I can't get rid of them.

Thank you, wow, it really helps.

Remix! Fic! (trying to get myself excited)

We did a whole lot of mopping and some judicious use of ant spray and Grant's Ant Stakes. Took us almost a week to beat them back.
