Fangirling is good for your health - tvillingar's meditation on the sheer fun of fannish love, the pleasure we get in sharing it. She says:
Someone else's love for a character doesn't in any way diminish my love for the same character(s) but instead makes me want to hold hands with the said fellow fangirl and skip through a field of daisies... or something.
I found fandom at a time in my life when I needed things to squee about, and new people to squee with, and I'm very glad I did.

results of a poll on fandom reading and pairings -- minisinoo finds a small majority have OTPs, but most will read fic with either of their favorite characters as well.

Very cute Charlie action (or inaction) figure thumbnail via spawn.com. (Click the thumbnail the for a nice big version.)

Oh, someone posted where to change your LJ title and subtitle: www.livejournal.com/settings. The interface is del.icio.us-style and far too cutsey, but at least it's there!

Sketch on why Christopher Eccleston really quit Doctor Who after one season: video on YouTube. Hint: he's Northern.

Kitten story:
..once upon a time the person known as Tony James was adopted by a teenie-tiny kitten known as Siouxsie Boots (on account of being marmalade with 4 white boots). The person thought he was being really smart by getting one of those catflaps with a solenoid latch that could only be activated by a small magnet attached to the collar of aforementioned kitten. Kitten arrives, and is fitted with the magnet. Some nights later, the person is awakened by anguished kitten yelling from the kitchen. Descended, expected the worst. Found kitten attached to the fridge by means of said magnet. She didn't see the funny side.
(from cuteoverload, I translated the petspeak, wherein kitten is the "pwner" and person is the "pwnee").

Kitten vs. laptop - wherein a tiny kitten tries to catch some images whirling around on a laptop screen. It's too damn cute for words! Found via tvillingar.

Damn but the kitten v laptop is cute! Why are kittens so cute? Why? WHY?? They are the spawn of the devil, existing solely to tempt us into making fools of ourselves, behaving in a way that we would never normally dream of - making "aw bless," type sounds and grinning inanely.

Not that I ever do that of course. Nonononono.

Ahem.
