I would have had an abortion, and not been sorry.

I was lucky -- I never got pregnant when I didn't want to. I have two great kids and that's all I can possibly handle. If I get pregnant, I will have an abortion. I know my limits.

My mom had an abortion after me, and before my brother, and she's not sorry.

Birth control and abortion allow women to be more than baby makers. They free men and women to have sex for pleasure, and there's a lot to be said for that.

(Inspired by spiderline's post)

I'm glad you posted. I have not had one myself, I've never been pregnant but I know I will if I ever do become pregnant. I am not meant to be a mom. And I do HIV/STD outreach, education and prevention, so I'm definitely not going to ever have unprotected sex. But if, a condom breaks or birth control doesn't work, I won't think twice before having an abortion.

Huh. I have wanted to say that for a really long time.

Yeah, I meant to say, I'm scarily fertile and got pregnant on purpose both times within 2 months of deciding to stop birth control.

It's easy to forget how serious the consequences are.

Important for me to say how it feels at middle age, so you spring chickens can get some perspective.

Yes.
This needs to be said. There seems to be some moral obligation to regret it, if you had one.
Even if one is sorry, people should still have the right to choose. Regret has little to do with it.

There are parents regretting that they had their child. It is the ultimate taboo, so few admit to it. But I have heard a couple of people say it out loud. And other parents show it. This is far worse then regretting an abortion, I would say.

In the end, surely it's better to not bring a life into the world if you know you can't cope with it? It seems a very cruel thing to do. So yes, I am in favour of abortion. To take away the choice of any woman can only be a step backwards.
