Whoops! I missed these!

cupiscent finished her Sparrington Carribean Cartography series: Letter of Marque, Close Quarters, and Barratry. Fabulous thoughtful gorgeous first-person Norrington/Sparrow story, long and full of great stuff characters, plot, situations and smut yeah. Includes "the most boring coat I've ever seen" and other lovely images.

Bread with Joy (mirabile_dictu, various pairings, but primarily Elijah/Sean, PG-13) It's totally Sean (just like in his memoir), told with affection from the point of view of a loving Elijah, and yay for a sweet Christine.

Drink Up Me Hearties, Yo Ho (freedomfry, PG-13, implied Billy/Dom, Orlando/rum). Snarky smartass friendship fic makes me happy. Taking the piss out of Orli is exactly how I think they do and should behave. Yes.

Two interesting essays on slash: My Hero and Real Men. They express some of my ideas of what we're doing writing about guys.

Thank you for the rec, sweetie! Plus the link to those two articles. "Real Men" in particular, because I get so fucking tired of people complaining that women writing slash don't write real men.

Jesus. I live in the real world, I have a real life, I have real men in my real life in the real world. Things are a bit more complex than whether or not a guy talks too much.

Sorry. Pushed a hot button for me. But thank you anyway!

I love your stuff and want more people to read it.

And yes, I like that balance. I dislike schmoopy talk from women as well (in real life and fic), but I also don't want to read about inarticulate thoughtless men grunting!
